In order to arrive at our starting point, we must first meet in the city of Puerto Montt. Then we have to check all the gear for each person, drive tu Hualaihué (the starting point and ending point of the tour), get the kayaks ready for the next day, and set up the tents to spend the night there. On the second day we start kayaking southward. We will visit the estuaries of Quinthpeo and Cahuelmó with their thermal waters and, if we are lucky, we might even see some sea lions, as well as a variety of seabirds. Every night we will camp on a different beach and we will finally drive back quite early on the sixth day to Hualaihué and back to Puerto Montt on the same day. This area is not very populated, and in many places there are no roads, so we will carry everything we need with us and do our own cooking during the whole tour.

Hornopiren 4 days

This shorter version of the six-day tour is oriented to people who don't have much time fo kayak but who also wish to visit this beautiful location amidst mountains and sea. Like the six-day tour, on the first day we meet in Puerto Montt, check all the equipment together, and then drive to the little town of Cholgo, where we will start and end this tour. There we will set up camp and get the kayaks ready for the next day. We start kayaking on the second day, visiting Quintupeo estuary and Llancahué hot springs; on the fourth day we return to Cholgo in the morning and to Puerto Montt in the afternoon. Don't forget that we are going to sleep in tents every night and cook our own food.

There is always the possibility of having bad weather, even in summer; that's why the daily itineraries are quite flexible. In addition, we must consider that there are kayakers faster and stronger than others; therefore, getting to all the planned places is not guaranteed. For this reason it is very important to us that you don't have anything really important to do the day after the tour like flying back to your country.

Each person mus bring their own sleeping bag, and hopefully also a tent, cleaning kit, towel, sandals, swimming suit, sunglasses, hat, suntan lotion etc. Since it is always colder at night warm clothes are absolutely required, among which a good jacket is quite necessary.
